New Layout?

Friends, please bear with me as I attempt to
mess up, and do everything possible to
totally screw up redesign the layout of my blog.
It has been awhile since I have gotten the time
and energy to play around with any of this.
My main goal was to allow for larger pictures to be
posted. Face it, everyone seems to like the
bigger photos, myself included.
I don't have everything listed on my sidebar
the way I would like it permanently, so that needs
some more of my attention.
I was doing good just to get the margins adjusted
this morning. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed
when it comes to knowing what I am doing.
Hopefully a light bulb will  go off above my
head and I won't have regrets about
leaving well enough alone.

Thank You Friends!

I just wanted to stop in and tell those of you who
left a comment on my last post
THANK YOU!
I realize that not every waking moment of one's
life can be filled with calm and happiness.
I do realize that sometimes it just takes a
kind word to someone to lift their spirits.
I think know blogging friends are one notch above
because they really don't know you personally,
but yet they offer up words of caring and encouragement.
I know a lot of you have your own burdens to carry
and for that I say we are all in this life together,
and we all benefit from kind hearts and
soft words of caring.
It is often hard to let yesterday's troubles
right where they need to be, in the past, and to move
on to the new day and make the best of it.
I keep telling myself it is all a part of God's plan.
I may not like it, but then I am sure he isn't always
liking me when I complain.
So today I move on, and take what comes.
I am a lucky woman, I have a wonderful
husband who loves me and I love him.
I have a wonderful family.
I have some good friends I have known
for years and many
good blogging friends who visit me here.
You all remind me of a bunch of flowers.
You are all lovely souls and I couldn't ask for
a better group of beautiful friends.
I am blessed, what more could I want.

When It Rains It Pours

I should rename my blog,
"When It Rains It Pours".
And so it was a real pisser (sorry) of a week.
Monday......class for learning peritoneal dialysis.
Tuesday hubby wakes me up before
 3am with a bloody nose.
He said he thought his nose was running and
when he turned on the light there was
blood all over his pillow.
No matter what I tried I just couldn't get it to stop.
By 3:30am we are in the ER.
2 hours later he was admitted to ICU.
I had to cancel day 2 of the classes and his
appointment for his first chemo.
Wednesday morning I stopped at the post office
on my way to the hospital. When I came out
my car was dead. I walk across the street to the
gas station and they give me a jump.
I make it a block away to the garage in another town,
stop for the red light and my car dies again.
Of course I am the first car at the light with traffic
backed up behind me.
I am directing traffic while trying to call the garage.
A cop shows up and he takes over.
My buddies at the garage show up and get my car
around the corner and to their shop.
They give me a loaner.
I make it to the hospital by 11am
at 1pm the doc says hubby can go home soon
as the ENT sees him. Seven hours later he shows up.
2 days in the hospital, 2 units of blood, 4 units of platelets,
a dose of IV iron and 3 does of IV antibiotics and we
come home. It is 9pm and we have to be up at 4am
for our trip to BG for his dialysis at 6am.
Classes were put on hold till this Monday,
starting chemo is put on hold till Tuesday.
We are at dialysis and the gal comes out and
tells me Baxter (the medical supply company) is
at our house, they have a delivery of all the supplies
we will be needing for the home dialysis, what should
she tell him? Oh just great!!!!!! No one called me,
I am 47 miles away at this point,
so I tell her to tell him to leave the stuff in the
back of hubby's truck.
We come home and about fell over!!!
The truck was piled with boxes, (no, I didn't get a picture
of me pulling my last hair from my head!).
So we unloaded 39 boxes off the truck to the front porch,
from there into the house, then back in the bedroom.
Our bedroom now resembles a warehouse.
The boxes are heavy and mind you, my hubby
just got out of the intensive care unit,
so yes, I did 85% of the lifting and hauling.
My sciatic nerve is killing me!!!
I am changing my name to JOB!

New Blanket - Lap Size

As promised I am posting a photo of
 my latest crochet project,
the small granny square blanket.

This is another fun and fast way
to use up those left over yarns that
hang around in the stash.

It is a no brainer pattern, just a simple
easy peasey granny block, 3 rounds,
joined together as they are completed.

I have no specific plan except to do lights
next to dark colors and mainly just
eye-balling color placement as I go.
So far it has worked out well.

I still have more squares to add, but
not as many as I originally planned.

This one will be a lap blanket size.
Even though it is not completed yet,
it is sold. A sweet little lady saw it and
liked it so well that she wants to buy it.

Another gentleman saw me working on it
and asked me if I was making it for him, lol.
I wish it would have been a sunny day when I
took these pictures, but it was
overcast and cold,

the perfect kind of weather to wrap
yourself up in something warm and pretty.
Hope all of you are enjoying this
weekend, doing what you like
and enjoying the company of
the ones you love.

What's Happening Here

Not much is happening here.
I haven't had time to take any pics to share
but will soon as I get a free moment.
I do have a package arriving in the next week
or two from Australia.
I am so excited, my Little Jenny Wren
doll will be arriving and I am as
pleased as punch. I have been waiting
a longgggggg time.
Also that new blanket I started a couple of posts
ago, I have been taking it with me and working on it.
While I was in the waiting room at the
dialysis center, waiting for my hubby to get finished
with his treatment, someone asked me what I
planned to do with it. I told them
either keep it or sell it. They said, Well, if you
decide to sell it I want to buy it!"
So how about that!
What a pleasant surprise.
Now I really have to get busy and get it done.
I will take a photo soon and share it
with all of you. I have also been saving and
donating the foil lids from Yoplait Yogurt
for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help
with breast cancer research.
Each specially marked lid is worth 10 cents,
not much, but it does all add up and every little
bit helps toward finding for the cure.
You can go right online and list the
codes found inside the lids. You will
find the internet address there as well.
Hope all is well with you.
