Exciting New Find in Knitting

Good morning my lovely followers and friends. I am so excited, and if you are a knitter you will be too. Have any of you seen Tiny Owl Knits blog????? You can link up here and check out her site and video about The Beekeeper's Quilt. Oh what a wonderful project for knitters and using up that stash of scraps you have stuffed in the bag in the closet, drawer or where ever. The pattern can be purchased and downloaded from Ravelry, and yep, I bought it! I just had to have this pattern!!!! It is one of those portable little projects that you can stuff in a wee bag and throw in your purse or tote. The hexes can be so scrappy or you could actually make them into a Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt design......and oh, don't let me forget to mention that you can use all sorts of tiny little knitted designs incorporated in your hexes. She even used lavender when she stuffed her hexes with polyfil. Now how relaxing would that be. On the page there is all kinds of links to various places and there is also a group for those doing this pattern. I wanted to post a couple of her pictures so you would get a better idea of what this is all about and hoping to excite everyone about her wonderful pattern. She also has knitting patterns for sale on Etsy, so check her out. You won't be disappointed. ♥

  1. Susanne,
I have seen these popping up allover blogland and I have to say this quilt is spectacular. How fun to do. I am too involved in my sons chocolate blanket to do anything else. It is sucking up yarn fatser than I can buy it!

  2. Oh, how I love all the color! Quilting, crocheting, knitting (I don't know how to do the latter two), but filled with vibrant, joyous color.

  3. Hello Susanne,

Thank you for your comment on my afghan. Yes it does feel good to have it completed. I have started on a doily and I am choosing pastel colors to begin another one. I want to crochet both the petals and the blocks in different colors.
Yes my package arrived on Wednesday. I have been so busy and I am so sorry that I have not let you know until now. I just loved everything! The soap scent greeted me as soon as I opened the box....oh it smells so good. It is is my guest bathroom giving it that lovely scent. The leaf candle holder is so sweet and I love the towel. The little magnets are on my fridge and I don't know if I can bring myself to use the knitted dishcloth. I so admire your knitting skill. I never learned to knit. Thank you so much for all the goodies. I am working on thank-yous hopefully to go out at some point next week. Have a good weekend. Take care and God bless! Mary

  6. Susanne, thanks for visiting, yes I so agree with you, its a nice place, very pretty, but I was so disappointed with the "made in china" on everything. I don't want to offend anyone, but it would be nice to see more things made in the USA or even the UK we have the resources!! Guess it all comes down to the money. As always. I think as well that in a place like Amish country I expected it to be made right there, did you? We did find a little popcorn shop, called Yoder popcorn did you go in there?
